I am in customer service at a local insurance office and a school bus driver. Those I call my grown up jobs. Baking and designing cookies is my new-found passion. I've found it to be very relaxing and fun. I tell people it's like coloring for grown-ups.
How It All Started
In late 2020, during the Covid pandemic, I wanted to do something special for the kids on my school bus for Christmas. I wanted to give them a homemade treat, but not your ordinary chocolate chip cookie. I wanted it to be something that said this job is more than just a job and that they are more than just kids. They are MY kids. I care about their achievements and accomplishments. A school bus cookie represented what that job means to me.
Later, my mother suggested I give classes on how to decorate cookies. I guess even adult children need nudging because I doubted myself and put it off. Finally, I got up the nerve and filled 3 back to back classes in one day.
Thanks Mom!
